SUMMARY:MRCC Annual General Meeting with Networking & Habitat for Humanity Presentation
DESCRIPTION:The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an important yearly function for all members in good standing to attend.\n\n\n\nTHIS YEAR - We are including an engaging networking activity.  This will allow you to meet other members that are on the virtual zoom call in smaller groups\, participate to earn prizes as well!  As well there will be a presentation from Habitat for Humanity on its work and local Mission projects.\n\n\n\nThe AGM gives the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce an opportunity to communicate with members and demonstrate organizational accountability while fulfilling the legal requirement of the not-for-profit organization's bylaws.  It also enables members to participate in the governance of the Mission Chamber by electing the Board of Directors.\n\n\n\nThe AGM is well-attended. Members enjoy a report on activities and successes of the past year\, learn about organizational initiatives for the year ahead\, ask questions about the financial statements and pass a motion to accept the slate of Board members as presented. They also hear from the elected Chair of the Board.\n\n\n\nAll ticket proceeds for this event will go to the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce Bursary Fund\n\n2020 Annual General Report\n\nList of Nominees and Bio \n\n2020 Financials \n\nAnnual General Meeting Agenda \n\n2019 Annual General Meeting Minutes \n\nCandidates Nominated for the 2021 Board Directors\nThere are six (6) board seats that are to be filled at the 2021 AGM \n\nAngel Elias\, Mission Hospice Society \n\nAngel Elias\, Executive Director of the Mission Hospice Society has been leading the organization to success in end of life compassionate care for the past 8 years. Moving the organization forward in being a leader in the industry in Bereavement support and Palliative care support as well as ensuring the Mission Hospice Society has the budget to fund all comforts at the Christine Morrison Hospice. Fundraising and grant writing to ensure financial stability for the organizing is just a small part of her role for the Mission Hospice Society.\n\nFurther to her role in the Mission Hospice Society\, Angel has been a proud member of the Mission Mid Day Rotary Club for the past 10 years\, as she lives by the Rotary rule ?service above self?\, serving as President in 2016 and is now currently club secretary\, she has been instrumental in community projects such as St. Joseph?s Foodbank New building\, MY Youth House building\, Mission Sports Park Score Board\, Blessing in backpack food program\,  and many other community events.\n\nHer hobbies are spending time with her family and making sure to support their sports ambitions and being an awesome mom to her daughter Alexandra and her stepson Isaac and trying to sneak in time to be a wife to her husband Doug.\n\n\n\nCeline Dauphney\, Urban Valley Transport\n\nCeline Dauphney is the President and Co-Founder of Urban Valley Transport Ltd.\, a Mission\, BC-based courier and freight service provider in the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley. Celine has been in the transportation industry for over 15 years and her core experience and duties include budgeting\, accounting\, project planning as well as creating\, communicating\, and implementing the organization's vision\, mission\, and overall goals ensuring that the customer is always benefitting from the company?s efficiencies and experience.\n\nCeline\, her husband\, and their new son chose to move to Mission in 2014 to set down their roots. Over the year?s her passion for the community has only increased inspiring her to become a more actively involved member by volunteering her time\, skills and voice to enhance its appeal. Some of Celine's favorite past-times include attending the local Craft/Artisan Markets\, Festivals\, Cultural Celebrations\, and various workshops.\n\n \n\nDawn Hein\, Mission Association for Community Living \n\nA leader in the social services sector for the past 30 years\, Dawn is the CEO of Mission Association for Community Living (MACL). In her role at MACL\, Dawn oversees a workforce of 200 employees and 17 programs that support people who have disabilities to live\, work and play in the Mission community. Dawn is strong business development professional and a quality assurance enthusiast who is skilled at policy development\, program management\, human resource management\, budget administration and risk management. She brings a passion and strong work ethic for community engagement\, diversity and inclusion. Dawn holds a Masters in Leadership from Royal Roads University and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.\n\nWith an ongoing commitment to the wider community\, Dawn serves on several District of Mission and community committees\, including the Sustainable Housing and Transit Committees. She believes in strong governance and has extensive board experience\, serving as a Director of the Fraser Valley Youth Society\, the United Way Fraser Valley and currently serving on the executive as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for both the BCCEO Network and the Community Social Services Employers Association.\n\nHaving successfully launched two now-adult sons\, Dawn and her wife Sylvie are officially empty-nesters who live with their fur-babies in Hatzic. When she isn?t working\, Dawn spends time gardening\, kayaking and hiking in Mission?s beautiful back country.\n\n\n\nEleanor Christison\, Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation\n\nEleanor Christison is a Fund Development Coordinator with the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation\, responsible for stewarding corporate sponsorship and assisting with grant writing and proposal tasks. The Foundation is the fundraising arm for the four hospitals in the Fraser Valley Eastern region.\nFor the past 18 months\, Eleanor has been working from the FVHCF office located on site at Mission Memorial Hospital and is developing great working relationships with staff. She is also the liaison with the Mission Health Care Auxiliary.\n\nTwenty five years of her career experience were spent in financial services with two local credit unions\, performing a variety of roles and tasks. For the past six years\, she has also been a member and past secretary of the Auxiliary to Abbotsford Regional Hospital which has provided her with experience in assisting the Mission Health Care Auxiliary.\n\nPrivate time has always been about faith\, family\, friends and community service\, and as of July 2020 is a first time grandma\, all of which speaks to one of her favourite quotes?\n\n~ if you think my hands are full\, you should see my heart~\n\n \n\n\nEthel Lariviere\, Dominion Lending Centres\n\nEthel M Lariviere\, MBI is an Independently Owned & Operated Licensed Commercial and Residential Mortgage Broker with Dominion Lending Centres - A Better Way. Since 1994\, Stephen has worked in the field of Human Resources and Business Developments. Having worked as a Business Coach/Analyst for start-ups in need of financing\, before moving on to managing several workforce response programs.  Stephen has acquired extensive experience within the human resource and business coaching fields. Stephen is also self-employed and runs his own fruit sales and brokerage business. He loves to travel\; highlights include catching a ball game at Fenway Park\, walking the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City\, a family trip to China to see the Great Wall and most recently visiting the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris. Through his involvement in the Chamber\, he is able to do just that by being a voice for business and having direct input into ways and methods of increasing the recognition and value all businesses receive. He also represents the Chamber on the board of the Mission Community Foundation.</span></span></p>\n\n<p>&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<h3><strong><span style="font-size:16px\;">Stephen Evans\, Mission Skills Centre Society&nbsp\;</span></strong></h3>\n\n<p><span style="font-family:arial\;"><span style="font-size:12px\;"><span style="color:#676767\;">Although Stephen grew up in rural Newfoundland\, Stephen has lived in the Fraser Valley for the past 30 years. Since 1994\, Stephen has worked in the field of Human Resources and Business Developments. Having worked as a Business Coach/Analyst for start-ups in need of financing\, before moving on to managing several workforce response programs.&nbsp\; Stephen has acquired extensive experience within the human resource and business coaching fields. Stephen is also self-employed and runs his own fruit sales and brokerage business. In addition\, Stephen has managed a large food processing business selling locally grown food within the global marketplace. Stephen is also the Executive Director of Mission Community Skills Centre where he managed a professional team of business developers\, human resource and training specialist\, and government funded skills development within the ag-food sector.&nbsp\; Stephen?s latest venture is the development of a regional food hub within the Fraser Valley. It is Stephen?s passion for business start-ups within the food and beverage industry which has provided him with specialized expertise within the fields of production\, finance and human resource development. He specializes in helping clients navigate the buying and selling process in the Fraser Valley real estate market. Before&nbsp\;obtaining his license in 2008\, he worked&nbsp\;in the finance industry for 6 years. Tom is always eager to learn and experience new things in life. He loves to travel\; highlights include catching a ball game at Fenway Park\, walking the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City\, a family trip to China to see the Great Wall and most recently visiting the Mona Lisa at the Louvre&nbsp\;in Paris. When Tom is not with clients\, you can find him at the local hockey rink or ball field volunteering in some capacity.
