SUMMARY:Webinar - Realignment with Life due to COVID-19
DESCRIPTION:REALIGNMENT WITH LIFE DUE TO COVID-19 - Session 3 of the "Winds of Change" Series REINTEGRATION WITH LIFE\n\n \n\nThe current pandemic has certainly\, in varying degrees\, affected our ability to cope or integrate the ideas and emotions involved in that experience. \n\n \n\nThis can take a serious emotional toll on us\, even if the event did not cause physical damage. This can have a profound impact on our identity\, resulting in negative effects in mind\, body\, soul and spirit. \n\n \n\nIt is not the event that determines whether something is traumatic to us\, but our experience of the event and the meaning we make of it. \n\n \n\nPost-pandemic life is not about returning to the same life as it was previously experienced before\, but rather it is about undergoing significant 'life-changing' psychological shifts in thinking and relating to the world\, that contribute to our personal process of change\, that is deeply meaningful. \n\n \n\nWe may find that this ?benefit-finding? gives us a broader perspective of life and some positive personal development.\n\n \n\nThis webinar (and subsequent handouts) will attempt to cover:\n\n\n\nA brief look into the world of trauma stress.\n\nThe similarities and differences between resilience and PTG.\n\nCompletion of a PTG questionnaire.\n\nDiscussions on the possible gains in some aspects of our living resulting from this ?stress-related growth? or ?adversarial growth?.\n\nHow this may translate to/have transformed our realignment of our wellness wheel.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWORKSHOP FACILITATOR JASON WONG OF CHANGEWERXS\n\nJason is a Group Therapist and Social Worker newly retired from working in the mental health field. He has over 38 years? experience as a practitioner\, facilitator\, and manager in the social services arena. Trained in England\, Jason?s experience included work in England\, Wales\, the United States\, and Canada.\n\n\n\nHe specialises in interpersonal communications\, cross-cultural communication\, personal development\, and workplace management. Jason is a UK certified Field instructor\, and in recognition of his skills\, was awarded the Practice Teaching (Field Instruction) Award by the UK Central Council for Education & Training in Social Work. He also earned his Certificate in Training & Development from the UK Institute of Training & Development.\n\nJason recently retired as a facilitator/trainer with Fraser Health?s Group Therapy Services in Mission\, where he facilitated workshops and intensive groups for both staff and clients. Prior to that\, he was a Clinical Coordinator at the Centre for over 20 years.\n\n\n\nHe developed Changewerxs from a commitment to the understanding that while knowledge is wonderful unless knowledge is applied\, it is just theory. Practice does not come from Theory. It?s the other way around. We can always obtain knowledge from all different forms of social media. But the application of knowledge\, and the continued practice of that\, is what facilitates change.

\n \;
\nThe current pandemic has certainly\, in varying degrees\, affected our ability to cope or integrate the ideas and emotions involved in that experience. \;
\n \;
\nThis can take a serious emotional toll on us\, even if the event did not cause physical damage. This can have a profound impact on our identity\, resulting in negative effects in mind\, body\, soul and spirit. \;
\n \;
\nIt is not the event that determines whether something is traumatic to us\, but our experience of the event and the meaning we make of it. \;
\n \;
\nPost-pandemic life is not about returning to the same life as it was previously experienced before\, but rather it is about undergoing significant '\;life-changing'\; psychological shifts in thinking and relating to the world\, that contribute to our personal process of change\, that is deeply meaningful. \;
\n \;
\nWe may find that this ?benefit-finding? gives us a broader perspective of life and some positive personal development.
\n \;
\nThis webinar (and subsequent handouts) will attempt to cover:
\n
\nA brief look into the world of trauma stress.
\nThe similarities and differences between resilience and PTG.
\nCompletion of a PTG questionnaire.
\nDiscussions on the possible gains in some aspects of our living resulting from this ?stress-related growth? or ?adversarial growth?.
\nHow this may translate to/have transformed our realignment of our wellness wheel.
