The Mission Region Chamber of Commerce and Wolf Bonner of Fraser Valley Coaching have partnered to present a self-care workshop.
The intention of the workshop: Empowering people to love themselves more.
We take care of what we value in life, and often we put ourselves last on that list. The research is clear, self-care practices create an environment for our whole lives to flourish. It boosts physical & mental health, overall satisfaction and joy in life, and can drastically improve creativity and productivity at work.
In this workshop, we will look at 5 real-life foundational practices for self-care, and the implications of what these practices do for us in our personal and professional lives. This workshop is not about spa treatments and skin cleanses. This gets into the nitty-gritty of what caring for ourselves really looks like on a daily basis at work and at home.
5 BIG IDEAS:
1) You Matter: The basis of self-care is our intrinsic worth as human beings.
2) The Basics: Diet, Exercise & Sleep: Caring for your body creates the proper environment to flourish.
3) Capacity: “Know your limit, stay within it” - Identifying where we are red-lining and how to cope.
4) Sustainability: Setting up sustainable rhythms of self-care and enjoyment in our lives
5) Boundaries: “Where I end and someone (or something) else begins”
There is a robust self-care personal evaluation form for attendees as they arrive at the workshop, and 3 other exercises dispersed throughout which promote a connection between people, personal discovery, and growth
