Effective Board Governance

Effective board governance is a critical element in the success and longevity of non-profit and public sector organizations.  Organizational effectiveness is reliant upon leaders to achieve objectives, manage resources appropriately and protect the interests of stakeholders in key decisions.

The Board TableHowever, true governance often falls by the wayside when boards become involved in managing rather than governing.  In this session, you will gain an overview of the basic role of the Board, together with ways to quickly identify and avoid governance gremlins and tips to strengthen your Board governance.

In partnership with Prospera Credit Union, a high level of governance workshop will give those who sit on community boards or who are interested in stepping up the skills to build strong effective organizations.

Highly trained Directors of Prospera Credit Union will be joined by David Gouthro, an esteemed facilitator and speaker with a knack for leading individuals and organizations in an ongoing pursuit of the knowledge and the skills necessary for achieving greater effectiveness. His energetic and playful approach incorporates variety, humour and fun to all he undertakes and has earned him the reputation as facilitator and speaker of choice for numerous North American organizations.
