Free Compost Soil Giveaway

What: Mission residents are eligible to receive one cubic yard of compost per household for free (500kg). Fees apply to excess.

Who: Must be a Mission resident; proof of residency required.

Availability: Open to residents within and outside the curbside collection area.

Loading: Self-loading required. Bring a shovel and suitable footwear.

When: Compost distribution available during regular landfill business hours.

Line-Up Updates: For status updates and availability, contact the landfill directly at 604-826-9008. Please note that weekends may experience high traffic.

Purchase Options: Compost can be purchased in large quantities at the landfill directly through the City’s contractor. Please call 604-785-8518 to arrange for purchase or to inquire about machine loading possibilities and fees.

Duration: Event runs from April 1 to May 31, 2026.
