Welcome to our Lunch & Learn sessions: These 1.5 hour sessions are combined with networking and a light lunch, and are designed around key learning outcomes to help your business and your skill-set grow. Bust out the business cards, bring your laptop or notepad and come hungry!

Business Plans

Where do you want your business to be next year? In five years? Do you want to grow it, sustain it, sell it, or are you just starting it? The process of collecting information and documenting your business intentions should be an ongoing part of any business operation. And whether you write it down in as a formal business plan for others to read, or only make notes with a bit of math, thinking about the future of your business should include all the parts of a typical business plan.
It starts with market research and creating a cash flow or budget, which provides the foundational information used to create the other sections. We will cover the essentials of research and financial projections and make sure you are continuously thinking about how to improve your sales and marketing and operations.

Allan Main has been the Executive Director of Community Futures North Fraser for the past 7 years, supporting small business from Harrison to Mission with business coaching and loans. Before moving to Mission Allan worked as a consultant assisting small companies with market strategy and product development, and his depth of business knowledge includes the start-up and operation of a few small businesses. Supporting his business experience is an MBA degree earned from the University of British Columbia.
