Municipal All Candidates Meeting 2026

The public is invited to attend a municipal all candidates meeting on Thursday, October 8th hosted by the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board.
Questions for candidates will be accepted in advance via email to events@missionchamber.bc.ca. 
Live questions during the event will be accepted via Slido only (link to be shared before the event).
The event will be live streamed and recorded to ensure accessibility for all. 
 

Doors will open at 5:30 PM with an opportunity to mingle with community members and candidates. The formal forums will commence at 6:00 PM and run no later than 9:00PM, providing an excellent platform on key issues and a moderated discussion. The MRCC Advocacy Committee will formulate a list of 10-20 prepared questions in consultation with local stakeholders, businesses, and our sponsor, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. These questions will be shared in advance with all candidates. Not all questions will be asked at the event to ensure the public has time to ask their questions as well, and candidates will not be informed which prepared questions will be asked or how many. After the event, all candidates will have the opportunity to submit their responses to any or all prepared questions and we will share those on our website and social media for public viewing. 

Separate back-to-back forums for council candidates and mayoral candidates will be conducted on the same night. This event will be live streamed and recorded as well as being open to the public in person. The live stream will be on our YouTube channel. 

This forum is an important opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates and make informed decisions as they prepare to cast their votes. Slido is available to accept questions from the public in real time at the event, no download or sign up is required to submit a question. Questions will not be accepted in any other format at the event.
