What image comes to mind when you think of Mission?
Places, like products, have a brand. Your image of Mission − and the image people from outside our community have when they think about Mission − matters.
How we grow and prosper is affected by our brand. We can manage our brand, but first we need to define it.
What is Mission?s Brand?
Mission is planning for change and growth as the city works to revitalize the downtown and promote development on the waterfront. Through the planning process, it has been identified that Mission is lacking a cohesive community brand. What do people think when they think of Mission ? what is our brand?
How we create growth and manage development does depend on our image, our brand. Based on community values, it will influence the place we will become.
After a summer of exploring themes defining Mission and in partnership with Community Futures North Fraser & Mission Community Services, we are hosting an event to Define Mission.

Keynote Speaker:
Bob Rennie, Principal of Rennie Marketing Systems
Rennie Marketing Systems (RENNIE) has been at the forefront of marketing real estate and new developments in the City of Vancouver and beyond, founded by Bob 38 years ago. The development industry awaits Bob?s cultural and economic observations yearly at his annual Urban Development Institute address, attended this year by over 1100 people.
Bob has been marketing real estate since 1975 and has become a household name and recognized as one of the top authorities in the local economy and is often credited for changing Vancouver?s skylines.
Under Bob?s stewardship, RENNIE has navigated through a wide variety of developments ranging from luxury brands such as Shangri-La, Four Seasons, and Fairmont to projects as progressive as the historic Woodward?s re-development. Woodward?s is located in Vancouver?s downtown eastside claiming Canada?s poorest postal code and also noted for Canada?s highest concentration of drug users.
RENNIE has established long-term relationships with Canada?s best developers and sales professionals, while forging exciting new associations throughout North America.
Bob has restored the oldest building in Vancouver Chinatown to house the Rennie offices and the Wing Sang Museum, which is open to the public two days a week with installations from the Rennie Collection, one of Canada?s most important contemporary art collections.
Bob holds a number of Board positions ranging from his appointments last year by the Provincial Government as a Commissioner to the B.C. Housing Board and to the Board of Governors at Emily Carr University, through to Chair of the North American Acquisitions Committee at the Tate Modern London.
