This private workshop is designed to inform, educate and assist both volunteer board members and staff about governance best practices and the effective operation of any board.

Some of the strategies and best practices you will learn in this dynamic and highly engaging workshop include:

The Workshop

The following will be explored in a workshop with your board of directors and not-for-profit members:

  • Roles and Responsibilities of the Board
  • What are the roles of a director and of the board of directors? We will discuss proper organizational structure as well as the principles of effective governance. Also, the big question regarding which committees every board should have will be answered.
  • The 7 Key Elements of Good Governance
  • Deb will give an overview of seven things that every board needs to have in place in order to govern properly.
  • Tips and Resources

Throughout the workshop, Deb refers to practical templates, exercises, and examples that she has created in her 35+ years of board experience. These documents are available electronically for each attendee to give them a kick-start on developing their own best practices with their boards.
